Wesley "Chief" Meadowbloom
The muscular Half Orc named Wesley Meadowbloom is NOT your ordinary Barbarian. Yes, he is from hills and prairies where his people lived as nomads with their livestock, hunting and foraging, and moving with the seasonal cycles; but he is far from barbaric.
Taught to respect all life and the value in all creatures, as a child, he also learned early on the cruelty of others as he was teased and treated as an outcast among his Human peers. Everyone, even the children, knew he was the product of rape when the tribe was raided by orcs while most of the men were off on the annual summer hunt. While his family accepted him, Wesley needed to work twice as hard to earn the respect within the tribe and he took on the nickname “Chief” after fighting off the other other children’s taunts for the last time when he was sick and tired of being called “Grog the stupid Orc”.
Chief’s physical stature and presence allowed him to watch over and protect other smaller children vulnerable to being teased, and as he grew into adulthood his size became an asset to the tribe. A year ago while traveling south to the Winter-Fields, the tribe was driven off by Drow Raiders. However, because of Chiefs bravery and strength, not a single life was lost, except for three head of cattle and two Drow killed by Chief himself. Afterwards, the Drow quickly gave up pursuit, the tribe was able to safety continue their journey southward. The Tribe elders presented Chief with a Great Sword as a gift in honor of his heroism, and today his story is now told amongst its younger Tribe members as a lesson not to judge others by appearances, but rather their character.
